De Nederlandse fotografe Trea van Drunen heeft een uniek fotoboek uitgebracht over The Ian Siegal Band. “Back Up With The Ian Siegal
Band” is een 100 pagina’s tellend boek, groot formaat hardcover, waarin ze de kijker meeneemt in het hectische leven van deze populaire Britse Bluesband. Het resultaat is een oprecht document, waarin niet alleen de ‘highs’ maar ook de ‘lows’ op indringende manier zijn vastgelegd.
“Backstage” en “on the road”
Tijdens een tour is de fotografe met de band meegereisd en heeft ze de vrije hand gekregen om alles te fotograferen. Zonder enige vorm van censuur, vooraf of achteraf, heeft dat een waardevol document opgeleverd voor liefhebbers van muziek ( -fotografie ) en fans van Ian Siegal. Dat wat zij altijd al hadden willen zien, ligt nu vast in een prachtig vormgegeven zwart/wit fotoboek.
Het voorwoord is verzorgd door muziekjournalist Tony Russell, die o.a. schrijft voor Mojo Magazine.
Tony Russell: “……….Ian Siegal is something else: a gripping performer. Give him a stage and he commands it. Like a magnet, he draws the audience’s attention to him, and that power radiates from many of the striking images in this book.”
Frontman Ian Siegal heeft zelf het nawoord in het boek geschreven.
Ian Siegal: “There are always highs and lows on any tour, but this happened to be one of particular extremes. That said, it would take someone with particularly good eye and a talent for capturing a moment to evoke this. Trea is just such a talent, as is evidenced in these photos. Mostly backstage and “on the road” shots, the book gives the viewer a real insight into how things are for the jobbing musician. It’s not always pretty, but we love it.”

In 2011 is de Nederlandse fotografe afgestudeerd aan de Fotoacademie in Amsterdam. Meteen na haar afstuderen heeft ze de ‘Pride Photo Award 2011’ in de wacht gesleept en is ze genomineerd voor de Photo Academy Award 2011.
