Tom Freund – ‘Collapsible Plans’ (CD);
(featuring Ben Harper & Jackson Browne/produced by Ben Harper)

Elvin Bishop – ‘The Blues Rolls On’ (CD);
Elvin’s brand new release “The Blues Rolls On” on Delta Groove Music, harks back to Bishop’s roots, paying tribute to the musicians who helped give him his start. A who’s who of blues musicians support Bishop on the album, including B.B. King, Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks, George Thorogood, James Cotton, Kim Wilson, Tommy Castro, John Nemeth, Ronnie Baker Brooks, and Angela Strehli. Bishop handles the majority of the vocals, with Nemeth and others pitching in as well. Bishop revisits his own ’70s solo hit “Struttin’ My Stuff” with Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks, Junior Wells’ “Come On In This House,” and the Butterfield Band’s “Yonders Wall” and Hound Dog Taylor’s “Send You Back To Georgia” …..

Warren Zevon – ‘Warren Zevon’ (2CD Collector’s Ed);
This a Collector’s Edition of ‘Warren Zevon’ that includes the original album remastered, along with a bonus disc filled entirely with unreleased demos and alternate versions of album tracks. Jackson Browne produced the album and also enlisted some of the West Coast’s biggest names to help out, including members of the Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, David Lindley and J.D. Souther…The bonus disc uncovers 15 unreleased tracks, including different versions of every song on the album. Several demos capture Warren Zevon alone at the piano, including a poignant take on “Frank And Jesse James,” a song he wrote while touring with The Everly Brothers…

Jeff Beck – Performing This Week:Live At Ronnie Scott’s (CD) ;
In 2007 Jeff Beck performed a series of concerts at the renowned Ronnie Scott’s club in London….This CD features performances recorded across the different nights and presents what Jeff Beck considers the best version of each track. Features: “Beck’s Bolero”, “Led Boots”, “Scatterbrain”, “Where Were You”, “Angels (Footsteps)”, “Cause We’ve Ended As Lovers” and his now iconic version of “A Day In The Life”.

Chris Wood – ‘Vulcan’ (CD);
Recorded just after the demise of Traffic in 1974, “Vulcan” was begun for Island records but shelved in 1978. The sessions featured contributions from Steve Winwood and members of The Wailers, along with a live recording of Traffic performing the title track in 1974, but due to a change in musical fashion with the advent of Punk, the album failed to see the light of day. Now, 25 years later, and after three years of research and preparation, Esoteric have pieced together the sessions in co-operation with Stephanie Wood to bring you “Vulcan”.

Tracy Chapman – ‘Our Bright Future’ (CD);
Recorded this summer in Los Angeles, the album comprises 11 new songs written by Tracy and co-produced with Larry Klein.

The Grateful Dead – Road Trips Vol. 1 Number 4 (2 CD + Bonus);
The group was feeling totally jazzed when they got back from Egypt, and Bill Graham, who had been on the trip abroad as a spectator, rather than as promoter, wanted to give the band’s hometown fans a taste of the Egypt experience by hosting a series of five shows at Winterland that would include a slide show depicting the group’s amazing adventures in Cairo and beyond……It proved to be magical at Winterland, too, as the crowd joined in clapping the song’s unusual and hypnotic beat. War’s exceptional harmonica player, Lee Oskar, dropped by the last two nights of the run, and the final concert brought a surprise appearance by ex-Quicksilver guitarist John Cipollina. This new Road Trips was culled from the the last two concerts of the series, October 21 and 22, 1978. The limited edition Bonus CD contains a number of other hot numbers from those shows, from a charged “Bertha”>”Good Lovin'” to a typically hot take on the “Estimated Prophet”>”He’s Gone” sequence, as well as one of only three live versions of “If I Had The World To Give” ever performed by the Grateful Dead.

Todd Rundgren – ‘2nd Wind’ (CD);
Out of print for almost two decades…..Todd assembled a stellar band with Roger Powell (Utopia) Ross Vallory (Journey), Prairie Prince (Tubes) Vince Welnick (Grateful Dead/Tubes) and others to recorded “Second Wind.” The album charted and included several radio favourites like the rockers “Public Servant” and “Change Myself”. This is a stunning new remaster from the original Warner Bros. source tapes. Include the original graphics and new liner notes by Rundgren friend Joe Reagoso.

Paul Carrack – I Know That Name (CD);

At the front of the group is Rick Vito, veteran Bluesman and former Fleetwood Mac vocalist and lead guitarist. Rick adds his personal touch while staying true to the styling of early Fleetwood Mac front man Peter Green.

Mavis Staples – ‘Live’ (Hope At The Hideout) (CD);
On Monday June 23rd 2008, a lucky few were treated to an intimate performance at Chicago’s legendary roots club the Hideout, by the leading lady of protest, Mavis Staples. Accustomed to appearances at large venues, particularly in her hometown, Staples played with a stripped down, raw and swampy three-piece band and just a handful of back-up singers, providing a rare opportunity for fans to get close and sweaty with a figure who has led the musical charge towards equality and justice for the past five decades.

Sammy Hagar – ‘Cosmic Universal Fashion’ (CD, verwacht 17 november 2008)

Jools Holland & his R&B Orchestra – ‘The Informer’ (2 CD);
A true showcase in musicianship and, with its classic horn and rhythm sections plus Jools’ unique piano playing, it wonderfully reflects the party atmosphere of their ever popular live shows. …Opening with the soulful title track featuring the smooth tones of vocalist Ruby Turner, Jools Holland & his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra quickly establish the beginnings of an eclectic big band party. ‘The Informer’ is a 2CD album that shows a big band at the full breadth of their dynamic brilliance, with a bonus disc of exclusive live recordings from Wells & Rochester Cathedrals.
