ZZ Top - Dusty Hill

Dusty Hill, bassist bij de Amerikaanse rockband ZZ Top, is in zijn slaap overleden. Dat laten de andere twee bandleden, Frank Beard en Billy Gibbons, weten op de website van de band. Hill werd 72.

We are saddened by the news today that our Compadre, Dusty Hill, has passed away in his sleep at home in Houston, TX. We, along with legions of ZZ Top fans around the world, will miss your steadfast presence, your good nature, and enduring commitment to providing that monumental bottom to the ‘Top’. We will forever be connected to that “Blues Shuffle in C.”

You will be missed greatly, amigo.

Frank & Billy

Hill speelde in ZZ Top de basgitaar en keyboards, maar ook was hij als achtergrondzanger en soms als leadzanger te horen. In 2004 werd hij samen met zijn mede-bandleden van ZZ Top opgenomen in de Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
