Rhythm & Blues Music Hall of Fame 2015 Induction Ceremony Was A Big Hit
The Official Rhythm & Blues Music Hall of Fame Museum hosted its 3rd annual 2015 Rhythm & Blues Music Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in Clarksdale, MS. This past weekend at the Clarksdale Civic Auditorium to a pack house on hand was the legendary actor Morgan Freeman, who also was honored at the event with the Rhythm & Blues Music Lifetime Achievement Award.
The night stared with a stellar tribute to the King of the Blues B.B. King. Then the fans saw 14 inductees get inducted into the Official Rhythm & Blues Music Hall of Fame from the likes of Little Richard, Al Bell of Stax Records, Millie Jackson, Muddy Waters, Jazzi Anderson, The Bar-Kays, The Mad Lads, Dorothy Moore, Ike Turner, Denise LaSalle, Bobby Rush, WDIA, and Elvis Presley along with a letter from CEO Jack Saden of Graceland.
Each inductee was inducted with a gold record. Al Bell the former record executive at Stax Records praised Founder/CEO LaMont “ShowBoat” Robinson for the work he has done and the vision he has to honor and to preserve the history of rhythm & blues and its legends.
Founder Robinson said this is a great night and I am happy to see so many of the legends come out to support this event. This is our 3rd induction ceremony were we have inducted over 65 legends to date. We are planning another induction ceremony this year on October 4, 2015 in Detroit, Michigan due to so many of our rhythm & blues legends passing away it called for us to hosted a 2nd ceremony. We want to give them their roses while they’re still here on this earth.
At the end of the induction ceremony blues legend Bobby Rush, brought the house down with his performance signing his big hits. There will be another induction ceremony held this year in Detroit, Michigan on October 4, 2015. Leading this 2nd class for 2015 inductees is Aretha Franklin.
