20 years into their career, Danish bluesrockers Thorbjørn Risager & The Black Tornado have a flow that they might never have experienced before, with gigs in 15 different countries in 2023!
And a sum total of almost 1300 gigs in 25 countries.

The band are really looking forward to playing a five-day cruise in the Mediterranean in August, “Keeping the Blues Alive”, with a stellar lineup headlined by Joe Bonamassa, and also featuring Kenny Wayne Shepherd. And they have also been booked at Sweden Rock with an audience of more than 42.000 (sold-out!)

The band has always been successful, but now it’s going better than ever. Those hundred thousand miles on the highway, as well as round a thousand hours in the studio, are really starting to pay off! Those who have followed the band through the years have seen where they’ve been heading, with alll those international nominations and awards and the great reviews and plenty of airplay in Europe, North America and Australia.

Last Autumn they released their 8th studio album “Navigation Blues” which has increased their international potential. The major Scandinavian music magazine Gaffa reviewed that CD with the heading ”Denmark’s blues band number one kicks in American doors”. And the fact of the matter is that in August this year they will be touring the US/Canada again.

And it’s not ”only” their recorded music – with 20 million streams – which is producing these results. They have also gathered a faithful live audience, where many have followed them through the years and travel far to hear them. Some have heard them dozens of times. And each time the band published a new tour plan or video, people ask ”when are you coming to…Australia/California/ Memphis/North Mississippi?”

That they got booked at Asia’s biggest blues festival 2015, in India, headlined by Buddy Guy, also meant a lot to them. So far, they have played almost 1300 concerts in 22 countries, and Spain in July and the Mediterranean Cruise (Greece and Croatia) will make the sum total 25 countries!
