Neil Young & Crazy Horse have announced that they will release their second album of 2012, titled Psychdelic Pill, on Oct. 30. It will be the band’s first album of original material since 2003. Americana, which was released in March, was comprised of covers of old folk standards.
Psychedelic Pill was produced by Neil Young along with John Hanlon and Mark Humphreys, and was recorded directly following the sessions for Americana. It will be available as a double-CD and as a triple vinyl LP, which won’t be available until Nov. 23. As with Americana, full-length videos will be produced for each of the songs on Psychdelic Pill and plans to compile them for a Blu-Ray release at a later date.
“Psychedelic Pill” contains giant rambles of songs: “Driftin’ Back” spans more than 27 minutes, “Walk Like A Giant” stretches beyond the 16-minute mark.
