Joe Bonamassa, de tweemaal voor een GRAMMY-genomineerde blues-rock gitarist, die op 9 maart aan zijn Britse en Europese tournee gaat beginnen, kondigt de release aan van British Blues Explosion Live. De live-registratie van de gelijknamige tour uit 2016 zal op vrijdag 18 mei uitkomen op CD / DVD / Blu-Ray & 3LP (zwart / rood, wit en blauw) via Mascot Label Group in Europa en J&R Adventures in Noord-Amerika.
De dvd en Blu-ray bevat geweldig bonusmateriaal, zoals een uitvoering van “Taxman” Live in de Cavern Club, de British Blues Explosion Explained door Mick Wall en een fotogalerij van de Britten Blues Explosion UK Tour.
Een ode aan de British Blues Explosion, met de ongelooflijke muziek van Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck en Jimmy Page! Joe eert zijn Britse Blues-helden tijdens een korte maar spectaculaire tournee door Groot-Brittannië – slechts 5 optredens. Voor deze release werd de show in Greenwich Music Time in The Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich, Londen op 7 juli 2016 opgenomen.
Joe Bonamassa is meer beïnvloed door de Britse blues dan door welke andere muziek dan ook. Van jongs af aan werd de muzikale Joe verliefd op het hard-rockende, korrelige en edgy geluid dat ontstond vanaf het midden van de jaren zestig van de vorige eeuw. Dit geldt met name voor het zeer innovatieve en evocatieve gitaarwerk van drie van de grootste zwaargewichten ter wereld, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck en Jimmy Page.
Joe Bonamassa’s liefde voor de Britse blues vormt de kern van zijn muzikale inspiratie; en, voor de eerste keer, was hij met deze onvergetelijke show in staat om een speciaal eerbetoon te brengen aan de Britse gitaristen die hem inspireerden, waaronder Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck en Jimmy Page.
De vijfkoppige band bestond tijdens de tour uit Michael Rhodes (Bass), Reese Wynans (Keyboards), Anton Fig (Drums) en Russ Irwin (Rhythm Guitar & Backing Vocals).
