Bonamassa with the Colorado Symphony

“Classical” concert with moments of cutting edge orchestrations

Guitar legend, Joe Bonamassa and his all-star band will be performing two shows with the Colorado Symphony at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado on August 9 and 10, 2020. This summer’s performances at Red Rocks Amphitheatre mark the seventh consecutive year Bonamassa will be performing at the revered venue. To celebrate, Bonamassa and the Colorado Symphony have crafted two very magical experiences to be had basking outside in the glow of the stars at one of America’s most incredible outdoor venues.

Bonamassa will perform at least 14 new and extended versions of his songs with this nationally renowned orchestra. Unlike most concerts featuring a rock band and orchestra, this concert will be driven by the orchestral arrangements written by some of the world’s leading classical composers as well as Hollywood’s leading movie orchestrators.

Each composer will orchestrate one or two songs of their choice. The direction of the songs will be set by the orchestrator and producer with Bonamassa performing both electric and acoustic guitar, and singing within those confines. You will be able to hear the desperate addiction in “Sloe Gin”, the ferocious animated realism of a desperate train journey in “Slow Train”, the Rodrigo-like Spanish influences in “The Last Matador” and majestic landscapes to create a spectacular music event for lovers of all kinds of music.

One may say it’s a “classical” concert with moments of very edgy, cutting edge orchestrations. Penderecki, eat your heart out!

Furthermore, the concerts will be filmed and recorded for a later release so that fans can continue to enjoy the event for years to come.
