David Hidalgo, Mato Nanji & Luther Dickinson
3 Skulls and the Truth

Label: Provogue
Release date: 25 September 2012

3 Skulls And The Truth is a collaboration between Los Lobos main man David Hidalgo, Mato Nanji of Indigenous and Black Crowes lead guitarist Luther Dickinson. This powerful triple guitar alliance is a once in a lifetime collaboration.

David Hidalgo, Luther Dickinson and Mato Nanji met as featured artists on the Experience Hendrix tour, which has been famous for bringing together legendary guitarists such as Kenny Wayne Sheperd, Eric Johnson, Steve Vai, Buddy Guy, Jonny Lang and others to pay homage in song to guitar icon Jimi Hendrix. Together they are 3 Skulls and the Truth.

What do you get when you take three of the best singer/guitarist front men in rock and roll and turn them loose in the studio to revisit their psychedelic blues roots? The result surpassed our highest hopes as Los Lobos front man David Hidalgo entered the studio and threw down a barrage of soulful vocals and searing guitar solos juxtaposed with the North Mississippi Allstars’ virtuoso front man Luther Dickinson, also known for his work on the last few Black Crowes recordings, and Mato Nanji the singing guitar wielding front-man of the blues rock band Indigenous.

These artists inspired each other to reach a high level of collaboration for a stellar CD that strongly bears each artist’s distinctive musical watermark.
