Wegens succes is een extra show in Amsterdam toegevoegd aan de Europese tournee van Eric Clapton in 2022. De legendarische Britse gitarist, zanger en songwriter treedt ook op woensdag 8 juni op in Ziggo Dome. Kaarten voor het eerste concert, dat al eerder werd verplaatst naar dinsdag 7 juni 2022, zijn uitverkocht. De kaartverkoop voor het extra concert start vrijdag 28 mei om 10.00 uur.

Op 24 mei wordt Bob Dylan tachtig. Hij is geboren in 1941 in Duluth, in de Amerikaanse staat Minnesota. Zijn oorspronkelijke naam luidt Robert Allen Zimmerman. Niemand, buiten Elvis Presley, James Brown en The Beatles, is zo bepalend geweest voor de ontwikkeling van de popmuziek als hij. Dylan heeft ruim zeshonderd liedjes geschreven. Het is onbegonnen werk om zijn immense belang te schetsen aan de hand van zijn beroemdste composities, zoals Blowing In The Wind, The Times They Are a-Changin’, Mr. Tambourine Man, Like A Rolling Stone, Just Like A Woman, All Along The Watchtower, Knocking On Heaven’s Door of het door Adele gecoverde Make You Feel My Love.

Na 35 edities leek het er op dat het voortaan stil zou blijven langs de Deusterstraat in Peer. Corona hakte stevig in op vzw Break-Away, de oude organisatie achter het Blues Peer festival. Het einde van een brok muziekgeschiedenis leek in zicht. Een team van lokale muziekliefhebbers en enkele gevestigde waarden uit de Limburgse festivalwereld neemt nu het festival opnieuw op sleeptouw. Zij gaan met een nieuwe organisatie resoluut voor een doorstart van het festival in 2022. Maar dat zal alleen maar kunnen bij een geslaagde crowdfundingactie: We are Blues Peer!

The 13-song set was produced by Los Lobos in East Los Angeles and finds the band mapping their musical DNA as a kaleidoscopic selection of tribute songs from their homeland, ultimately creating a crucial snapshot of L.A.’s musical heritage.

The ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND in 1970 was on the brink of superstardom. They had only been together for 11 months when promoter Bill Graham, who had booked them in San Francisco and New York, invited them back to the Fillmore East on a triple bill with Grateful Dead and Love. And fortunately for us, the Dead’s soundman Owsley “Bear” Stanley had his tapes rolling. Now, the seven-song original compilation is being re-issued with two extra CDs containing all the mastered but unedited source material.

Guy King has built a reputation as one of the greatest blues and jazz artists to come out of Chicago in recent history, but his newest and soon to release album "Joy is Coming" establishes him as much more than that. The autobiographical "Joy is Coming" sees King showcase his songwriting chops bringing to mind Bill Withers, Eric Clapton and Steely Dan whilst presenting King’s true artistic voice.

Rozedale heeft met 'Rozedale' een fantastisch album gemaakt met het typische eigen geluid dat direct herkenbaar is. De basis is nog blues maar het is ook wat dynamischer en rockiger geworden dan de vorigen en meer radio-vriendelijk en commercieler. Maar steengoed. De geluidskwaliteit is werkelijk fantastisch; warm, vol en diep. In alle opzichten een geweldig album. Absolute aanrader.
