Ook dit jaar gaat het Holland International Blues Festival in Grolloo niet door. Dat laat medeorganisator Johan Derksen weten aan RTV Drenthe.

Het NN North Sea Jazz Festival 2021 wordt verplaatst naar 8, 9 en 10 juli 2022. Ook het openingsconcert van John Legend op donderdag 8 juli 2021 gaat niet door. Of dit concert ook verplaatst kan worden, wordt nog onderzocht. Tickets voor het festival blijven geldig voor de volgende editie of kunnen teruggegeven worden; kaarthouders ontvangen nog aanvullende informatie per e-mail.

Het festivalterrein op De Domineeskamp in Raalte zal ook dit jaar tijdens het Pinksterweekend leeg blijven. De organisatie van Ribs & Blues moet in de Corona pandemie voor de tweede keer een streep zetten door het bekende 3-daagse roots -en bluesfestival.

In een tijd dat live-evenementen niet mogelijk zijn, gaan Shelter From The Storm, het roots & americana platform van TivoliVredenburg, en het Amerikaanse muzieklabel Thirty Tigers de samenwerking aan onder de naam ‘Storytellers’. Vanaf donderdag 25 maart 2021 presenteren ze elke donderdagavond vanaf 20:30 een gratis sessie met de allerfijnste americana & roots artiesten via de Facebook pagina van Shelter From The Storm. Van nieuw talent tot bekende namen als Brent Cobb, Blackberry Smoke en Trampled By Turtles.

John Hiatt with The Jerry Douglas Band will release Leftover Feelings on May 21st via New West Records. The 11-song set was produced by Jerry Douglas and recorded at Historic RCA Studio B in Nashville, Tenn. A meeting of two American music giants in a legendary setting, Leftover Feelings is neither a bluegrass album nor a return to Hiatt’s 1980s days with slide guitar greats Ry Cooder and Sonny Landreth. There’s no drummer, yet these grooves are deep and true. And while the up-tempo songs are, as ever, filled with delightful internal rhyme and sly aggression, The Jerry Douglas Band’s empathetic musicianship nudges Hiatt to performances that are startlingly vulnerable.
