Renowned for their rousing and mesmerizing live performances, THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND is preparing to officially release another historic show via the Allman Brothers Band Recording Company label. Recorded on September 28, 1971 at the Austin Municipal Auditorium in Austin, TX, Down In Texas ’71 will be available through an exclusive pre-sale at www.merchmountain.com, and beginning March 26 (the band’s formation anniversary) at The Big House Museum gift shop and online store, and as a digital release.

Tedeschi Trucks Band announced a new home-filmed performance series, the six-episode Fireside Sessions.
Bandleaders Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi will host the run, which launches Feb. 18 and continues each Thursday at 8PM ET at nugs.net. The series follows a 10-month performance drought due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Each episode will feature different iterations of the band — from the husband-and-wife duo to lineups with four, six and eight members.

Van zondag 14 maart t/m 23 maart 2021 speelt het driekoppige rock ’n roll monster zijn negen albums integraal in chronologische volgorde in TivoliVredenburg. Van de allereerste EP ‘DeWolff’ tot het geweldige ‘Grand Southern Electric’ en de nieuwe plaat WOLFFPACK. Elke avond volgt om 20.30 uur een ander album in een andere bijzondere setting en met de nodige gastmuzikanten.

Nu is er dan ‘J.T.’, een eerbetoon waarin Steve Earle's bloedeigen zoon centraal staat, een eerbetoon dat er nooit had mogen komen. Nog geen twee maanden na de herdenkingsdienst van zijn zoon is Steve Earle met zijn muzikanten van The Dukes bij elkaar gekomen in de Electric Lady Studios om daar tien composities van zijn zoon vakkundig maar bovenal met veel gevoel te bewerken. ijn zelfgeschreven ‘Last Words’ vormt het slotstuk van ‘J.T.’ en beschrijft op een bijzondere wijze de gevoelens die er bij hem loskwamen na het laatste gesprek dat hij met zijn zoon had. “Er was niemand waar ik zoveel van hield als van Justin”, zou hij recentelijk hebben gezegd. Al eerder was bekend dat beiden ook op muzikaal vlak nauw verwant met elkaar waren. Nog niet eerder klonk Steve Earle zo ontredderd.

Slim Harpo's swamp blues stylings earned him almost instantaneous success, his first single quickly becoming a blues standard and later a British Invasion darling. Meestal speelt Robbert Duijf als solo-artiest, maar deze keer niet. Deze keer wilde hij iets anders proberen. Dus begin 2020 stapte hij de Husky Studio binnen. Als kleine jongen droomde hij er al van om een LP te maken, zo’n magische zwarte schijf. Maar de wereld vertraagde en we eindigden in een lockdown. Dit gaf hem wat extra tijd, tijd om nog eens na te denken. Zijn gedachten werden steeds duidelijker en beslissingen werden genomen. “Stick to the plan, that’s what the old man said!” Uiteindelijk viel alles op zijn plek. Dit zou niet alleen een soloalbum worden, maar hij had ook de eer om met een aantal getalenteerde muzikanten samen te werken. Het plezier dat ze hadden deed hem beseffen, dat muziek maken hem het gevoel geeft echt te leven.
