There are box sets and then there are BOX SETS. John Mayall’s The First Generation 1965 - 1974 set sits firmly in the latter category, being substantial both in the artefacts contained within and the superb music it encompasses.
The first set of this size to be released documenting John Mayall’s early years sees not only all albums from his much lauded formative career, but also unreleased tracks aplenty. The Teskey Brothers‘ Josh Teskey and Ash Grunwald have announced a forthcoming joint album, ‘Push The Blues Away’. ‘Push The Blues Away’ is “an album born out of a mutual love for the blues and a genuine appreciation for each other’s talents”. “This album was made how any good blues album should be in my opinion. Spontaneously and instinctively.”

Het zijn dure tijden voor Elvis Presley fans. Afgelopen jaar verscheen al de 5 cd-box met studio-outtakes van zijn opnames in de American Studios in 1969 (met kneiters van hits als In The Ghetto, Suspicious Minds en Kentucky Rain), gevolgd door een deluxe 11 cd-box met alle officieel opgenomen concerten van Elvis in Las Vegas in 1969. In november 2020 verschijnt From Elvis In Nashville, een 4cd-collectie met nummers/outtakes van Elvis Presleys marathonsessie in de zomer van 1970. Is de koek daarmee op? Nee. Fans konden in augustus van dit jaar ook nog de portemonnee trekken voor Elvis: That's The Way It Is | 50th Anniversary Collector’s Edition: een box met 8 cd’s en twee dikke boeken over zijn repetities en concerten in juli en augustus 1970.

A decade ago Jimmie Vaughan released his definitive album Blues, Ballads and Favorites. It was a stunning collection of 15 of his favorite songs. Vaughan followed the album up in 2011 with More Blues, Ballads and Favorites, digging deep into the music that had helped shape his life in the blues.
On October 30, 2020, the Last Music Co. will release a special 3-vinyl LP set of these two albums titled The Pleasure’s All Mine, spotlighting the music of one of the true pioneers in showcasing the roots of American music. It will also be available on a 2-disc CD collection.

Concerto en Plato brengen in samenwerking met Universal music 25 jaar na dato het legendarische Stones concert in Paradiso (1995) uit op vinyl. Het zal voor het eerst zijn dat het volledige concert met 20 nummers in totaal wordt uitgebracht als dubbel-LP. En omdat de tentoonstelling ‘The Rolling Stones – Unzipped’ in november naar het Groninger Museum komt, verschijnt de release op speciaal oranje gekleurd vinyl! Daarnaast organiseert Paradiso tevens twee voorstellingen van The Rolling Stones: Live At Paradiso Amsterdam 1995 concertfilm !
