Nieuw solo album Steve Lukather “All’s Well That Ends Well”

Guitarist, vocalist, composer, producer and arranger, Steve Lukather is set to release his new solo album All’s Well That Ends Well on Monday 11th October 2010.
The founding member of Toto, Lukather will showcase his innate feel for rock and jazz guitar music, along with his song writing talents. The new album is laden with extraordinary guitar playing performed across some of the best and most emotional songs of Steve’s career.
To coincide with the release of the album, Steve will embark on a European tour in November that will take in concerts in Belgium, Holland, Germany, Italy, France, Switzerland and England. The concerts will showcase classics from his all his solo albums, Toto, plus tracks from his new album.

Justin Townes Earle lijkt totaal geen last te hebben van het feit dat hij ‘de zoon van’ is en ook nog eens is vernoemd naar één van de grootste songwriters ooit. De lefgozer besloot namelijk toch de muziek in te gaan en gelukkig maar. Het lijkt een onnozel idee, louter Pink Floyd klassiekers aan te kleden met een Blues jas.
Toch waagde een variërende line-up van voormalige en huidige leden van Allman Brothers, Gov’t Mule en Black Crowes zich er aan en warempel, ze slaagden nog ook!

We willen deze dagen niet voorbijgaan aan het feit dat Stevie Ray Vaughan 20 jaar geleden helaas is omgekomen bij een helicopter crash.
Vanwege dit feit heeft Sony Legacy Recordings besloten om een reissue uit te geven van zijn met platina bekroonde album uit 1984 “Couldn’t Stand the Weather”
Stevie Ray heeft nog steeds een enorme invloed op jonge gitaristen over de hele wereld.
Zijn invloed op de blues muziek mag dan ook niet vergeten worden.

Eric Clapton’s nieuwe studio album release zal 14 tracks bevatten en de titel “Clapton” krijgen. De release van dit album is 27 september 2010 op het Warner Reprise label. Het album bevat een mix van nieuw materiaal als covers. Enkele songs zoals “Rocking Chair” en “When Somebody Thinks You’re Wonderful” zullen de Eric Clapton concert gangers bekend klinken daar Eric deze songs al geregeld gespeeld heeft bij zijn concerten.

Vanaf vrijdag 23 juli 2010 ligt het gloednieuwe album van Tom Jones in de winkel: Praise & Blame. Jones maakt een stijlbreuk met z’n oude bekende hits; Praise & Blame is donker, melancholisch en bevat covers van onder andere Bob Dylan (What good am I) en John Lee Hooker (Burning hell), maar ook een aantal traditionals.
De 70-jarige Jones keert terug naar z’n roots: gospel, blues en country. Hij maakte zelf de vergelijking met Johnny Cash, en die is inderdaad niet vergezocht.
